Manchester City are weighing up a move for their new number one goalkeeper, with Porto set to sign Diogo Costa for a staggering £63m (€75m) in January.

According to reports from ‘O Shoko‘, Ederson has two years left on his Manchester City contract and is not considering selling him, amid speculation that the ยูฟ่าเบท club will sell him to the Saudi Pro League in the summer of 2025 rather than leaving him on the free market.

Not to mention the pent-up frustration of Stefan Ortega Moreno, the second-choice player, who is also looking for an opportunity to be the number 1 elsewhere. This is all the driving force for the ‘Sky Blues’ to look for a new goalkeeper.

The first choice in mind is Costa, but the 25-year-old player is still under contract until June 2027. The bargaining power is with Porto, who have the advantage. Therefore, paying that amount of money to get him must guarantee the real deal.

The Porto youth product has made 11 appearances this season, keeping five clean sheets but has conceded more than 13 goals. He is currently on international duty with Portugal ahead of their Nations League clash with Poland ( Oct 13 ).
